Different sectoral working groups covering all aspects
of the Maltese economy and society were established
to allow stakeholders to achieve a common vision for
their sector for the future. These contain representatives
of the Government, social partners, civic society and
special interest groups.
These will gradually develop the programme to be implemented
in the given sector in the period 2003-2006 as a contribution
to an overall national objective of social and economic
development.
A common thread flowing through each group is the need
to ensure 3 key elements are represented:
- Gender equality
- Protection of the environment
- The special needs of Gozo
The following groups have been established
- Agriculture and Rural Development
- Enterprise Policy
- Tourism
- Employment and Training
- Environment
- Energy and Water Production
- Education
- Social Policy
- Transport and Communications
